Calderdale hosts Showcase event for young Entrepreneurs

Calderdale’s youngsters have been forging ahead with businesses ever since running a project funded by Yorkshire Forward, in collaboration with the LSC and Calderdale Council.

To celebrate the progress that they have made, more than a dozen youngsters will showcase their products and services at the Heath Training and Development Centre in Halifax on the evening of Thursday 1st of July 2010.  Some have been spectacular, with one recent graduate of the school system now in his third year of business occupying a site on the Tenterfields Industrial Estate confidently expecting to have a turnover of £150K this year.

Another, still studying AS levels at school has built his business up to £3K per month turnover since July of last year.  At the event, youngsters will talk to an audience of influential people about what the difficulties are for youngsters setting up, how they managed to deal with difficulties, what would make their lives easier and how to engage other students in entrepreneurial activities.
