Enterprising Yorkshire - Inspiring Young Minds

Home Enterprise Day 2009

The event was held on Friday 20 November, the last day of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009, led by Enterprise UK.

The event was a real hub for sharing ideas and good practice. Organisations including Business Link Yorkshire, Enterprise UK, PRIME and HMRC attended the event and worked together to support and promote entrepreneurship in Yorkshire & Humber.

Local and national award winning speakers shared their home enterprise journey and there were practical workshops on subjects including how to start a business from home, registering your business and marketing tips.

The Young People’s Enterprise Forum (YPEF) as part of their ‘Embedding Enterprise in Further Education’ programme, have established the ‘Enterprising FE’ network to share good practice between colleges in Yorkshire & Humber.

Over twenty colleges are part of the Enterprising FE network, and here is an example of good practice, the ‘Home Enterprise Day’ run by Craven College.
