Enterprising Yorkshire - Inspiring Young Minds

Hull Gold Standard

Since its inception in 2007, Hull City Council Gold Standard for IAG has resulted in many of the city’s schools, colleges and young people’s services working hard to ensure that they met its demanding requirements and volunteering to be assessed against them.

Hull City Council IAG Gold Standard has been updated to acknowledge national publications and changes in legislation since 2006.

The principles contained within the IAG Gold Standard remain much the same as before but have been revised and re-ordered to ensure that the outcomes of assessment align with the publication ‘Statutory Guidance:

Impartial Careers Education’ and ‘Quality, Choice and Aspiration - A strategy for young people’s information advice and guidance’(both 2009) and also with Standards 1 to 11 of the national Quality Standards for Young People’s Information, Advice and Guidance (2008). We have added two new elements which look at the provision of careers education, information, advice and guidance and enterprise in response to renewed statutory requirements.

Consideration has been given to evidencing the five ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes: ‘Be Healthy’, ‘Stay Safe’, Enjoy and Achieve’, Make a Positive Contribution’ and Achieve Economic Well Being’. These are built into the processes and outcomes of this Gold Standard.
