KC Enterprise Academy celebrate 1st anniversary with Premier League Trophy!

The Premier League trophy may have been won by Chelsea, but this month it was in touching distance of some enterprising young Tigers.

The top trophy’s visit to Hull on April 20 was timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the KC Enterprise Academy when 1205 Hull schoolchildren attended a special prize-giving presentation marking their successful involvement with the academy.

The KC Enterprise Academy is a programme to support the city’s young people and during the last twelve months it has used the sports club examples of Hull City and Hull FC to introduce to pupils the concepts and skills behind running a business.

So far, 600 youngsters are on target to achieve a Business and Enterprise qualification from the OCR awarding body, including pupils from Kelvin Hall School, Malet Lambert School, St Mary’s College, Trinity House School, and Sir Henry Cooper School, Kingswood.

The celebration event at the KC Stadium featured Ian Ashbee, Hull City player with Hull FC players, Mark O’Meley and Craig Fitzgibbon. The host was popular BBC presenter Blair Jacobs, who presented certificates with the Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr David Gemmell.
