Have You Got What It Takes?
This is an exciting event for the launch of a new enterprise resource developed for the London 2012 Games. On 10th November, we are running the ‘Have you got what it takes?’ challenge with a group of students from schools in Barnsley and Newham as part of a high profile day, Going for Gold at London 2012 – celebrating Yorkshires home grown talent. In addition to showcasing Yorkshire’s sporting achievements to special guests, Seb Coe, Members of the LOCOG team and Regional Minister, Rosie Winterton, we are launching the ‘Have you got what it takes’ enterprise challenge.
“Have you got what it takes” - is a new free enterprise resource for teachers to use in school. The key components of the resource are: London 2012, The Olympic and Paralympics Values and Enterprise Education objectives including creative thinking, team work, problem solving, financial management and presentation skills. The activities are designed to run for a half-day, with the potential of extending into a whole day for those schools that choose to make this one of their special enterprise days.
You will be see students undertaking the enterprise challenge, receive a full copy of the resources and a training session on how to deliver them in school. In addition, you will leave the workshop with a copy of ‘Ability vs. Ability’, education resources developed for the Paralympics worth £1200 for you to use in school. You will also have the opportunity to meet and speak to our special VIP guests.
