Enterprising Minds is a research project carried out by the Carnegie UK Trust, involving 17 colleges, 51 Research Interns and 4 eSurveys and 1602 participants. It focuses on the attitudes of young people to enterprise, education and the the future in a changing economy. The survey covers the whole of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and comes to 4 main conclusions:
- Attitudes vary between jurisdictions
- Enterprise in education has an impact
- Celebrity and role models matter
- A changing economy is confusing
Based on the research findings, Carnegie UK is making 7 recommendations for the future to help improve student engagement with enterprise and enterprise education. These include more collaboration across jurisdictional boundaries to learn from best practice and partnerships between different education sectors to improve the consistency of enterprise education for learners through school, college and university.
