What is Social Enterprise?

Social Enterprises are dynamic businesses with a social purpose working to deliver lasting social and environmental change.

Social Enterprises tackle some of our most entrenched social and environmental changes in an innovative way. They bring fresh ideas, a “can do” attitude and work across diverse communities.

YPEF are working with the Social Enterprise Support Centre (SESC) to deliver a Social Enterprise Programme for schools including a step-by-step toolkit to help them understand social enterprise, involve the local community and provide valuable resource materials and guidance. Some schools have received expert business advice and are turning their social enterprise projects into fully fledged incorporated businesses. This programme is funded by Yorkshire Forward.
